Gabrielle Leighton is a Queer artist who spent her earlyyears in Winnipeg, Manitoba as well as Lincoln, Nebraska. After graduation fromLincoln high school’s Art and Humanity Focus Program in 2012, she traveledaround parts of Canada before she moved to Toronto; this is where she earnedher BFA at OCAD University in May of 2018. Her work has been realized by usingplywood with wood tools such as a die grinder, router, belt sander, chisels,acrylic paint and blowtorches. She has used her practice as a vehicle todocument a mark, sustain a voice as a record of time. She has in more recentyears been working from a more sculptural approach.
